Even though Galimberti worked within the confines of the geometric or grid format his compositions explore rhythm and movement. This Polaroid mosaics that explore the portrait are probably the most aesthetically pleasing and expand the portrait as good as any cubist painter.

Not only did it showcase the high quality designs produced by our Yr 10/11 BTEC Textiles Learners, the event also raised nearly £200 for the ‘Sniff for Life’ charity.

The Great Wave which formed part of a 46 print series called ‘The Thirty Six Views of Mount Fuji‘ were championed as part of the post 1880 Parisian ’Japonesque‘ craze. This influence of the constant foci and repetitive pursue of the primary landscape is clearly evident in Claude Monet‘s Haystack/Wheatstack series on 1890-1891.
