That’s very impressive! I love the style as well. It’s the first time I’ve come across it, but can’t wait to see more!

I was looking for something different when it came to food, brilliant idea. Going to try it with my YR8 class, wish me luck as it all boys!

We teach it to mixed classes or all abilities and they love it! The boys also enjoy the dry felting in addition to Applique as it keeps their hands active and requires focus.

Without sounding too thick what is Dry Felting? also as we dont have sewing machines we are just sticking to embroidery needles, any ideas on how to make this a pain free lesson?

Dry felting is a technique that uses wool tops and a special barbed needle to attach wool to a piece of cloth or create 3D sculptures just from wool. It’s a very low tech (and low cost) and is a very easy technique to pick up with high quality results.
We have a video tutorial that shows you how to use: http://bit.ly/ihrd2m
We’ve attached a link to our FB page where you can find some Georgia O’Keeffe dry felted responses: http://on.fb.me/fBgbLg
